Fly Me To The Moon 3-D Review

Three young houseflies stow away aboard the Apollo 11 flight to the moon.

Believe the bad buzz on this houseflies-become-astronauts CG animation, which is lousy with lazy jokes and irritating characters. As an example of the former, see the craven rip-off of a Simpsons gag (Homer snacking in zero-gravity); for the latter, the trio of hero flies, who are basically a micro-scale, even more grating Alvin and The Chipmunks. And while the 3-D effects are decent, they’re used to put characters in your face you’d rather swat away. On the plus side, Buzz Aldrin turns up in a magnificently bizarre live-action cameo, ruining all the fun by telling us that none of this could have happened because the real Apollo 11 was free of contaminants.

Believe the bad buzz.
