Nathalie Emmanuel – Dany’s most trusted lieutenant in Game Of Thrones, and erstwhile Hollyoaks star – is set to return to the biggest, brashest, most physics-defying franchise of them all: she’s confirmed to appear in Fast & Furious 8.

The British actress joined the ensemble cast of the cars-’n’-stunts series in last year’s Fast & Furious 7, playing improbably attractive computer nerd Ramsey, a ‘hacktivist’ who created the God’s Eye device.

The franchise’s nominal lead actor and executive producer Vin Diesel announced Emmanuel's return in a slightly odd Instagram video, which saw the pair drive around wordlessly on a golf buggy listening to Sade’s By Your Side. I mean, sure.

F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is directing the latest episode of the multi-billion dollar series, which is currently in pre-production. Most of the cast from the last film are set to return – minus, of course, the late Paul Walker, who sadly died during filming of 7. Dwayne Johnson will be back as Hobbs, having confirmed his appearance last year.

Most intriguingly of all, however, is the addition of Charlize Theron as the new villain of the piece, which gave rise to a thousand ‘Fast and Furiosa’ puns.

Filming is due to take place later this year in Iceland, New York, Atlanta and – if rumours are to be believed – Cuba. Rev up your engines up for April 14 next year, when Fast & Furious 8 arrives in cinemas.
