Original Title:

El Diablo

Easterner Billy Ray Smith meets up with tough cowboy Louis Gossett Jr and the two mismatched partners embark on a comic adventure strewn with dead bodies, (mostly) good jokes and daft twists as they follow the trail of a missing schoolgirl.

Produced and co-written by John Carpenter, this easy-going cable TV movie is full of funny lines and playful revisions to the old Western format while sowing enough real insights into the form to act as an affectionate tribute too.

Worthy tribute too a distinctive genre
