Cuba Gooding Jr. steps into Eddie Murphy's shoes with this summer camp-set sequel to Daddy Day Care.
If Eddie Murphy was willing to put his name to Dr Dolittle 2, Shrek The Third and The Klumps, then any family sequel that he knowingly avoids must be very bad indeed.
Instead it falls to Cuba Gooding Jr. to unwisely scoop up Murphy’s leftovers as a harassed dad who mortgages himself to the hilt in order to revive an ailing summer camp.
Fred Savage (Kevin in The Wonder Years) proves that not all child actors know how to direct kids, pouring tooth-rotting sweetness over the kind of adult slapstick and juvenile puke, burp and fart humour that you can see on YouTube for free.
Instead of Camp Driftwood, stick the lot of them in Camp Crystal Lake and let Jason Voorhees sort them out.
Worse than you can possibly imagine - no, really!
