Two rival actors, Serge (Luchini), a newly established TV star, and Gauthier (Wilson), a retired thesp, reunite to rehearse The Misanthrope. Creative collaboration, however, is a bumpy road.
Celebrating classic literature and the art of acting, tele-hack Lambert Wilson’s bid to coax a retired thespian into co-starring in The Misanthrope is impeccably played and sumptuously filmed. Even the cornball slapstick and a romantic subplot work a treat.
Beautifully performed by its two leads, Cycling With Molière is a comic treat.
