Will Ferrell stars as The Man in the Yellow Hat, a gentleman who looks after his pet monkey - an inquisitive and wonderful creature whose enthusiasm often gets the best of him.

Originally created in books for toddlers by Margret and H. A. Rey 65 years ago, mischevious monkey Curious George finally makes the jump to the big screen in this traditionally animated adventure. When museum guide Ted (Ferrell) travels to Africa to find a giant statue that may save the future of the museum, he instead returns with a keychain-sized figurine and a cheeky stowaway whose antics soon lose Ted his job and his home.

That’s about it for plot, but then the film never pretends to be clever, nor one of those family movies like The Incredibles that’s peppered with smart quips for grown-ups. Solely made for tiny tots, this may test the patience of supervising adults, but delight smaller viewers who will doubtless fall in love with George and want him for their very own.

A shock for those expecting grown-up laughs, Curious George is that rarest of breeds: a kids' film through and through.
