Constance Wu

Though she'd be forgiven for staying away from romantic comedies after the smash success of Crazy Rich Asians, Constance Wu is diving back into the genre, albeit for a very different concept.

Kimmy Gatewood, more normally found slamming about the wrestling ring in GLOW, will make her directorial debut with the film. Savion Epstein wrote the as-yet-untitled script, which will find Wu as a woman who becomes pregnant with two babies from different men.

Elizabeth Banks and regular producing partner Max Handleman are overseeing the film for Sony's Screen Gems arm, but with the pieces still coming together, it's still too early to say when this might hit cinemas.

Wu will likely be back for both theCrazy Rich Asians sequels currently aiming to be filmed together, but not for more than a year thanks to crazy busy schedules for the cast and director Jon M. Chu. She's also got a voice role in Wish Dragon and a part in satire Low Budget Ethnic Movie, while on TV she can still be found on US sitcom Fresh Off The Boat.
