Like Blues Brothers (if Jake and Elwood were hairy, brown ursines and loved country music), but for kids.

That's the sort of thing Disney were going for when they pitched this movie, a spin-off idea from one of their amusement park attractions. Part genius (great cameos, Christopher Walken and an amplifier that goes up to '12') and part what-the-huh?

Too American, too country, too much like a slick, brand extension cash-in, Country Bears hovers between cult video hit and utter rubbish, never being compellingly either.
