Ben (Hogg) works in a call-centre but wants to make it as a stand-up. Between times he hangs out with housemate Elisa (Lasowski) and muddles through the occasional gig. Will his new friend, the more energised Nathan (Stewart-Jarrett), spark a fire in him?
Social realism's easy. The tricky thing’s making it interesting, and debutant Tom Shkolnik only partially succeeds with this workshopped saga about a call-centre drone struggling with his sexuality and stand-up ambitions. Capably played, but aimless between the set-pieces.
Moments of inertia aside, Shkolnik's scriptless film makes a bold attempt to capture the staccato rhythms of life.
