Made-for-the-box remake of the 1945 Barbara Stanwyck film with Dyan Cannon as America's favourite TV cook and mother who can't cook, has no kids and isn't married, and Kris Kristofferson as a forest ranger-cum-national hero who's invited to take part in a live TV special on Christmas Day featuring her "family" at their "home" in Connecticut.
As Christmas approaches, Kris and Dyan hit it off while all around them - including the show's producer Tony Curtis, who's down as her hubbie - fall apart. Promoted as Arnold Schwarzenegger's directorial debut when in fact it's not since he previously helmed an episode of the Tales From The Crypt TV series, this is competently made, vaguely amusing and features enough fake snow to cover Alaska.
