"Ordinary little girls don't want to kill their parents," observes acute therapist Marietta Hartley when confronted with a seven-year-old psycho who has been giving adoptive mum Mel Harris a severe problem by slaughtering birds, sticking long needles into her little brother and coming on to grandpa like a skid-row hooker.
With a more interesting social problem than most of these based-on-fact TV movies, this is still achingly good-hearted and understanding, with Harris - the kind of liberal saint who would drive any kid into homicidal mania - doing her best to understand the little tyke whose antisocial attitudes at least impart a touch of entertaining nastiness to the sickeningly
saccharine surroundings.
