The Broken Hearts Club Review

Think Sex & The City - the sexploits of Carrie et al have been replaced by an equally chatty group of late twentysomething gay men living in West Hollywood.

★★★★★

Fans of Sex And The City should seek out this romantic comedy - it's like a movie version of the cult TV show - except New Yorkers Carrie, Miranda and pals have been replaced by an equally chatty group of late twentysomething gay men living in West Hollywood.

There's even a man-hungry Samantha clone in the form of actor Cole (Cain), who is so slick at ditching his conquests that he has ready-prepared break-up lines to dump lovers as effortlessly as possible ("Are you reading that off of your hand?" asks one incredulous recipient).

Winningly written and directed by Greg Berlanti (an executive producer of Dawson's Creek), this is an incredibly likeable, warm and upbeat romantic comedy filled with sparkling dialogue and convincing performances. Great fun.
