Brannigan’s March Review

With shades of David Lynch's comparable anti-road-movie The Straight Story, this low-budget offering follows the recently redundant and depressed Philip Brannigan as he crosses Britain wearing a religious sandwich board. The film is largely dialogue-free and, in taking this approach, director Erik Knudsen demonstrates faith in the audience, whom it is hoped will "immerse themselves in the detail of Brannigan's experience". Unfortunately, it's not visually or intellectually stimulating enough for us to become engaged in the hero's plight.
