Boxing Day Review

This modern-day retelling of Tolstoy's 'Master and Man' sees property developer Basil (Huston) venture into dangerous Colorado snow with chauffeur Nick (Jacobs) to purchase woodland at a cheap price

Bernard Rose’s fourth Tolstoy adaptation centres on callous property developer Danny Huston getting stuck in the Colorado snow with chauffeur Matthew Jacobs. Their weightier exchanges are worthy but too deliberate and, thus, this never delivers on its intriguing premise.

The overly deliberate exchanges between the two leads prevent Boxing Day from ever delivering on its intriguing premise.
