Original Title:

Bird on a Wire

Mel Gibson is the pony-tailed FBI informant with a new identity who bumps into old girlfriend Goldie Hawn (who thought he was dead) while trying to escape the bad guys who want him kept quiet — for good. The stars are amiable enough, but Kathelene Turner and Michael Douglas did the we-fight-but-we-love-each-other-really stuff so much better in Romancing The Stone. Mel and Goldie are left trailing in their wake in the chemistry department in what was billed to be the Hawnster's big 90s comeback. Despite the extended running time jam packed with action scene after after scene it still feels a little short on content.

Not a bad choice for a sort of braindead session in front of the small screen.
