A pair of lesbian lovers flee the law after one of them accidentally murders the other's mum.

Lesbian lovers Lenni and Stella accidentally kill Lenni's posh, snobby mum at the gas station where they work and go on the run, intending to hide the body en route - but their attempts to cover up the crime spark off a chain of events that leaves their own lives in danger.

This low-budget thriller, based on the novel by Elena Stancanelli, plays as a kind of Italian answer to Thelma & Louise, lifted by one or two surreal touches and Regina Orioli's performance as a nervy young thing haunted by the ghost of her deceased parent. But ultimately the final twist is too predictable.

Rather poker-faced at times, but the girls' low-key love affair is quietly compelling.
