The movie version of Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender didn't exactly kill at the US box office, but it made a better showing overseas. Game company Ubisoft is trying something new with the title and producer/filmmaker Adi Shankar has taken to Facebook to announce he's working on an animated Creed series.

"I played the first edition of Assassin's Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream," Shankar says in his post. "At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin's Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series."

There are no other details about the show yet, but we do know that Shankar has form on this front: he's already made an animated Castlevania due to hit Netflix this week, so the Assassin's Creed project will surely follow suit. No channel has been locked down, but expect the streaming service to be a strong contender.
