The Art Of War Review

Snipes is the UN's secret (agent) weapon battling forces attempting to derail a business deal with China.

★★★★★

Pity poor Wes. An accomplished actor (One Night Stand), a convincing action hero (Blade) and a fine comic talent (White Men Can't Jump), he still spends most of his time in destined-for-Blockbusters dreck like this. Perhaps the guy can't pick a script - more likely, Hollywood's screwy logic has him picking scripts from a dumper file marked "Abandoned Van Damme Projects".

In this Bond knock off, the tireless search for fresh heroes and enemies casts Snipes as the UN's secret (agent) weapon battling forces attempting to derail a business deal with China (oh joy. What price a Blofeld in the 21st century?).

The standard-issue script, meanwhile, rakes up the usual clichés: nifty gadgets, crumpled cops, double-crosses and pointless bangs. Yawn, yawn, yawn.

Yawn, yawn, yawn.
