Original Title:

American Flyers

The first film with Kevin in a leading role that was actually seen by more than a few members of the paying public.

Costner and Grant are two brothers at odds who compete against each other in "the toughest bicycle race of the year", with Costner as the older, more competitive of the two.

Not only do the pair have to prepare for the upcoming race, but, hey!, they also have to deal with a hysterical mother, a dying father, and the knowledge that one brother is destined for the same fate as pops. With a supporting performance from Baywatch's own Alexandra Paul (doing her best Jamie Lee Curtis impression).

Not quite as sickly as it sounds, with a fair few hints of the onscreen magnetism to come.
