In The Sapphires, a quartet of silver-larynxed songstresses from down under head to Vietnam in the late '60s to entertain the troops. It's Apocalypse Now meets The Commitments with Chris O'Dowd as Colonel Kilgore role and a lot more uplift and a lot less horror. With toes tapping, we sent our own bearded soul man Ali Plumb down to subject the cast and director Wayne Blair to Empire's own version of The Old Grey Whistle Test. Put on your shades, grab a full tank of gas (optional) and enjoy.
