Crystal Skull Lego
Little bits of plastic in the shape of the fourth Indy film

The Temple of the Crystal Skull
A big one this. This is, apparently, the Lost Temple of Akator, and almost certainly the location of the movie's climax. The set includes the temple; a little truck; figures of Indy, Spalko, Mutt, a Soviet soldier, two Mayans (although they look like gingerbread men), a skeleton in a helmet and three other skeletons WITH CRYSTAL SKULLS!
Crystal Skull Lego

What it might teach us:

  • The temple appears to have shades of the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors from the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark. It's full of booby traps, including a collapsing staircase, tumbling skulls and a great big waterfall.
  • Those crystal skulls may well be from aliens. They're certainly oddly-shaped for human skulls. The strangest thing is that they seem to have little blue brains inside. What on earth these signify is beyond us.
  • Others have sought the crystal skulls. One of the skeletons appears to be wearing a Spanish conquistador helmet. The Spanish conquered the Mayans in the 16th century, so might the film suggest that it was for the purpose of obtaining the crystal skull?
  • There's machinery in the temple. On the top of the structure, there's a strange satellite-esque thing that opens up to reveal a small dome. There's nothing on the dome, but is this possibly some kind of doohicky for communicating with something far, far away?
  • Gingerbread men control the world.
