Alpha Black Zero: Intrepid Protocol Review

A breath of fresh air in an overcrowded genre

★★★★

Tactical, squad-based shooting games may be ten a penny at the moment, but Alpha Black Zero has something that most others miss — a decent story to keep you hooked.
Played out in a series of flashbacks, the game finds its chisel-chinned hero trying to clear his name after being accused of treason. As evidence is given in a military court, his twisted tales of espionage become levels, giving gamers a chance to explore the complexities of the case and work out who they can trust.

The game’s futuristic setting also sets it apart; the alien worlds proving an unpredictable landscape where mysterious forces often scupper the best-laid plans. Jerky animation and occasionally frustrating controls mean it
misses a top score, but ABZ is still a breath of fresh air in an overcrowded genre.
