RE: A complete miss
Empire have indeed given it 5/5. Damon Wise was the reviewer. Think the letters page of the next issue is going to be interesting. lol.  More

A complete miss
Managed to watch it and it is not good. It looks incredible and the score is as good as Drive, but apart from that, it's hollow. The violence is ridiculously nasty and off putting, even for hardened viewers, and the characters are terrible. To say it's a bad movie suggests it might have some entertainment value; it doesn't. It's not bad, it's just boring. Mind crushingly boring If Empire really have given it 5/5, I can see that review being quietly erased- much like the Attack More

Biggest disappointment of the year
How did it all go so wrong? A fearless director and the hottest actor around at the moment together so soon after their masterpiece Drive - surely it can't fail? Only God Forgives is so pretentious and full of repetitive shots of hands and Gos slowly turning his head bathed in red light that it has to be considered arty...unfortunately at times it feels like it some sort of parody of Drive. A bum note for all concerned - graphic violence, hardly any dialogue, extreme lighting and a Cliff M More
