Oz The Great and Powerful

Film synopsis 1905. Carny magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) is transported from Kansas to the Land of Oz, where he is taken for the wizard who is prophesied to save the realm from a wicked witch. The sisters Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Theodora (Mila Kunis) send him on a deadly quest which brings him into contact with Glinda the Good (Michelle Williams), flying monkeys, a china doll and oppressed Munchkins.

The 3D is what's got me interested. I'll give it a go, but will probably be waiting for blu ray.  More

Visaully it does look good, but does this story really need another updating? The cast are a bit hit and miss too, with the exception of 127 Hours and his camino in 30 Rock Franco has never done anything good.  More

put off by the preview!
saw a 10 minute preview and have to say it looks awful! Far too reliant on CGI, which (like Alice in Wonderland) was very poor compared to the effects on show these days. I think Disney may have another John Carter on there hands!  More
