I see what you mean about Judy Garland being quite small.
Still, to my mind I honestly can't think of anyone who can carry the role better than Anne Hathaway.
At the end of the day for me she walks it with her voice, which is integral to portraying her character.
Her acting I thought was great in Rachel Getting Married which to me showed she can hold up a film with the main character.
I really hope she isn't loosing weight for the role though.

Still it could work, Anne Hathaway can sing that's for sure. Problem is she'll have to lose even more weight than she has lost. m, I don't know what that means?
But I for one am really looking forward to this film getting made.
Anne Hathaway certainly has the one screen presence and the voice to back up this role in my opinion.
