Knocked Up

Genres Comedy, Romance

Film synopsis To celebrate a surprise promotion, pretty TV floor manager Alison Scott (Heigl) goes clubbing with her uptight sister (Mann). Buoyed by happiness and booze, she hits it off with a friendly slacker called Ben Stone (Rogen) and takes him home for a spot of one-off sex. A series of pregnancy tests later, and a one-night stand is turning into a lifetime commitment...

Four Stars? OK.
Watched this last night. My local cinema had a preview screening and when they didn't get any advance bookings they just gave them away for free. This is a very funny film. Definitely worth seeing. You still can't help thinking that no matter how drunk, Katherine Heigl is way out of Seth Rogen's league, and he just wasn't quite charming enough for the notion that he could ultimately win her over. But that's a minor niggle. This is damn funny stuff.  More

Paul Rudd is God!
Saw this last night. Very, very funny. Paul Rudd has just become my favourite current comedic actor. It took a while to forgive him for Friends but he's just hilarious in this. As is Seth Rogen. And Leslie Mann. And Jonah Hill. Christ! All the cast are great. I wish they'd used Jason Segel and Harold Ramis a little more but that's a small gripe when you consider that this is about a hundred times funnier than any other mainstream comedy in recent memory.  More

Poster
We got the poster for it, the other day (I work in a cinema) and I was in stiches that they dared make a public poster like that, we got a few tuts from some of the oldies that came in to get their monday classic. But it looked amazing. I can't wait until it comes out, it just adds another great film to the incredably promising year of movies we are about to whole heartedly enjoy.  More
