 I watched this when I got up this morning, was a perfect awakener while I ate my cereal.
From the opening "Its an ugly planet, a Bug Planet!" to Zim busting himself to Pvt just to get some action, its classic through and through.

"I've just got one rule: Everybody fights, nobody quits, if you dont do your job, I'll shoot you myself! Do you get me?!"

And its got the limping autopsy Doc from CSI (Robert David Hall) in it as well, I noticed today. He's the guy that says "Fresh meat for the Grinder eh?!" & "Mobile Infantry is what made me the man I am today!" before wheeling back to show hes got no legs and one arm!

*EDIT* I've just read that he actually has no legs, after having them amputated back in 1978 as a result of burns from a car crash! Always wondered about that crutch in CSI and had just assumed that they'd CG'd his legs in Starship Troopers like they did with Ironside's arm. Learn something new every day.

 Starship Troopers is a great movie. I can't decide whether it is a clever satire and a direct attack on American Culture or a stupid gung-ho shoot em up. I don't suppose it really matters. I love the fort scene -superb effects and bucket loads of gore. Acting is terrible but is part of its charm.

Apparantly they filmed it in South Africa where they could get more 'bank for their buck' much like Neil Marshall's Doomsday, so here's hoping it's a more epic affair after the turgid Hero Of The Federation.

the first movie rocks harder than eating rock candy at a rock gig in the hard rock cafe but the 2nd was a big bag of shite, but ill def check out the new one since johnny "im from buenos ares and i say kill em all!" rico is back, if zim was in it it could be the best sequel ever

Still haven't watched ST2 - I can't bring myself to deliberately self harm and that is what watching film 2 soulds like it equates to... but hell, Rico is BACK!  YES!  I'll definitely go in to watch this (just heard a rumour that it's up for a theatrical release in the UK - can anyone confirm?) even though it might very well stink of moldy poo *he says, touching wood*.

Still, the first film was truly magnificent and just missed out on my top 20 films Evar.  And how come the effects in Titanic, The Lost World and Armageddon (All released within a year of each other, summer to summer) now have aged so badly and yet this lower budget offering still trumps many effects in films made today?

DO NOT EQUATE IT WITH THE BRILLIANT FIRST MOVIE

i watched both back-to-back and loved BOTH, their budget's not equating STORYLINE .....

$100 million does not equate to $7 million, and yes, it does show ..... but that souldn't detract from story!

try and equate it to a live action ROUGHNECKS, and you'll get a better representation of it
