Live&Let Die for me, just for the type of music I listen to, but Biggus' list is pretty much definitive.

And what about the Bond themes that didn't make it? The film uncovers efforts by everyone from Blondie to Alice Cooper, which didn't make the final cut.

Sounds interesting, what was their song like?

All of this...

Amen to that.  I still have it on vinyl, and it's by far and away the finest Bond OST. And if you don't love We Have All The Time In The World then you don't love music.  Simple as that.

Live And Let Die - Paul McCartney or the Guns 'N Roses version will do for me!
GoldenEye - F*ck Pierce, Tina (and Bono & The Edge) was the reason why Commander Bond had such a good comeback in the '90's
Nobody Does It Better - Oh. My. God. One of the best pre-credits sequence followed by one of the best songs ever? Brilliant.
License To Kill - Gladys Knight giving it her all? I got a thing for power ballads...
The Living Daylights - Dalton was good as Bond, and so were the tunes which accompanied his outings. So there.

Alice Cooper did a Bond theme and they didn't use it?!?!  It's insanity like that which is gonna kill the franchise!!!!  Was it on that show???  Hope they repeat it...!

Wasn't that keen on Tina Turners and Madonna's was the worst thing about her film (and that's REALLY saying something!!!!!), with the possible exception of her appearance as a fencing instructor.  Made me want to dig out my epee and kick the entire casts collective arses (and I could have done it too, who the f&*k trained them!?!)...

From the rest tho, it's hard to pick out a best, it's an impressive list (it's usually the only way I can differentiate the films ).  But I'll go for License To Kill, thought Gladys Knight did a damn good job of that, more like the older themes.  Quite like Sheryl Crows one and the new theme too, that's taken some very undeserved stick...!

After watching OHMSS again, Im going to have to switch my vote to its fantastic score, featuring both the instrumental theme (one of the greatest action themes ever), and We Have All The Time In The World (one of the greatest love songs ever).

Unquestionably "Nobody Does it Better" (from The Spy Who Loved Me) by Carly Simon, followed closely by "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton.

JAMES BOND'S GREATEST HITSABC1 Adults
To coincide with the release of new Bond movie Casino Royale, this film celebrates the music which has always been key to the mystique and glamour of the Bond phenomenon.

From Shirley Bassey to Sheena Easton, John Barry to Paul McCartney, and Moby to Madonna, James Bond's Greatest Hits covers every 007 film since the calypso Three Blind Mice ushered in Dr No in 1962.

James Bond's Greatest Hits tells the stories behind the nation's favourite Bond songs, as voted for in a nationwide MORI poll. Will viewers favour old-school favourites like Goldfinger and the famous twangy-guitar James Bond Theme over more modern Bond anthems like Madonna's Die Another Day?

And what about the Bond themes that didn't make it? The film uncovers efforts by everyone from Blondie to Alice Cooper, which didn't make the final cut.

James Bond's Greatest Hits includes the first John Barry interview in nearly a decade on his peerless Bond repertoire, as well as contributions from other key figures in Bond's musical heritage, including Burt Bacharach, Hal David, Monty Norman, Lesley Bricusse, Don Black, Nancy Sinatra, Duran Duran and A-Ha.

It's repeated tonight at 11.40 on Channel 4.

The bit thats on the Coke advert sounds really good. Althought the fact that Coke is sponsering the Bond film is a bit odd, is James going to ask for a Bacardi and Coke, Shaken not Stirred?

Is this a Coke advert currently on the telly-box? I'm desperate to hear this.

Cheers Rhubarb but from reading that article it sounds like that is music composed for the advert rather than the theme song itself.

It has to be Live And Let Die. But I have very high hopes for the QoS theme tune.
