Live and Let Die gets my vote because its one of the few times the used the music from the song for some of the action sequences instead of riffing on the Monty Norman Theme over and over.

I can't decide between the following:

  • Live and Let Die
  • The Man With the Golden Gun
  • A View to a Kill
  • You Only Live Twice

Since Golden Eye the theme songs have been c***!!! IMO

The World Is Not Enough by Garbage. Unless Guns n Roses' version of Live and Let Die counts, which I don't think it does.

O.H.M.S.S.  - because it's pure John Barry!

You Only  Live Twice - blended in perfectly with the movie

Goldfinger - Dah-dah-dah! (sing it!)

There were also a couple of songs by The Pretenders in Living Daylights which were great.

simple,we have all the time in the world, although everyone seems to think it was a hit before on her majestys secret service but it was written specifically for the movie, now its a classic song

It's not technically a theme song, though, as it only plays out the credits at the end, if memory serves me correctly. If I'm wrong feed me to a school of sharks. Great song, though.

JAMES BOND'S GREATEST HITSABC1 Adults
To coincide with the release of new Bond movie Casino Royale, this film celebrates the music which has always been key to the mystique and glamour of the Bond phenomenon.

From Shirley Bassey to Sheena Easton, John Barry to Paul McCartney, and Moby to Madonna, James Bondís Greatest Hits covers every 007 film since the calypso Three Blind Mice ushered in Dr No in 1962.

James Bondís Greatest Hits tells the stories behind the nationís favourite Bond songs, as voted for in a nationwide MORI poll. Will viewers favour old-school favourites like Goldfinger and the famous twangy-guitar James Bond Theme over more modern Bond anthems like Madonnaís Die Another Day?

And what about the Bond themes that didnít make it? The film uncovers efforts by everyone from Blondie to Alice Cooper, which didnít make the final cut.

James Bondís Greatest Hits includes the first John Barry interview Ė in nearly a decade Ė on his peerless Bond repertoire, as well as contributions from other key figures in Bondís musical heritage, including Burt Bacharach, Hal David, Monty Norman, Lesley Bricusse, Don Black, Nancy Sinatra, Duran Duran and A-Ha.

What about the instrumental version of From Russia With Love? It works excellent in the film.
Other than that Id have to plump for You Only Live Twice, and the retro pair of View To A Kill and The Living Daylights.

It's between O.H.M.S.S., "You Only Live Twice" & "Licence To Kill".

Another couple of end credit themes that blew my socks off were:

"If There Was A Man" by The Pretenders (Living Daylights)
"Surrender" by K.D.Lang (Tomorrow Never Dies)

Licence to Kill (underrated song and film), Goldfinger, live and Let Die and Nobody Does It Better are fantastic but my favourite is....

Goldeneye

It's Tina Turner singing and Bono writing....Bond genius

My personal favourite of all the Bond themes has to be Nobody Does it Better- one of my favourite songs from Carly Simon!
But I also like others, like Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, and The Living Daylights- I like my Ah-Ha!

View To A Kill, Live And Let Die and The Living Daylights.  Can't decide between the three of them.

I also like The World Is Not Enough and You Know My Name

That program was indeed very good, some interesting facts {Alice Cooper did a Man With The Golden Gun theme song} and it was rather refreshing and honest to see some of the parties, such as John Barry and A-Ha,actually slagging each other off. I would dispute the order of course, for example I've never been a huge fan of the Goldfinger song which was No.1! My top five Bond themes are

1/ We Have All the Time In The World ,simply one of the best love songs ever, and I don't usually like love songs!

2/  On Her Majesty's Secret Service main theme-one of the most glorious action themes ever

3/  Live And Let Die-such an original song but it works so well

4/ You Only Live Twice-lovely and exotic

5  007 Theme-I don't mean the 'Bond Theme' but the action theme that appears in From Russia With Love,Thunderball,You Only Live Twice,Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker {for example it's played during the Little Nellie sequence in YOLT},I'd love to see David Arnold come up with an alternate action theme like that!

1. Live and Let Die - by far the most exciting Bond song
2. Nobody Does It Better
3. A View to a Kill - cheesy but thats why its great
4. You Only Live Twice
5. The World Is Not Enough - don't care what others say, its a great Bond song and far better than Sheryl Crow's effort for Tomorrow Never Dies
