Ba was awful the other night, he was offside almost every time he was involved in the game and Torres... well he's been poor for a while. I think Giroud is quite underrated personally. He's a good player.

Are Chelsea going to play Willian up front or Mata as a false nine or something like that?

I just can't see how Chelsea are going to accommodate all of these players and they want Rooney on top of this!!!!

Giroud's better than Torres and Ba, surely.

why does no one ever include van Ginkel? He's quality innit.

I guess we can all agree that Schurrle's Chelsea career is sadly deceased anyway. STOP BUYING QUALITY PLAYERS FROM THE BUNDESLIGA AND LETTING THEM ROT ON YOUR BENCH CHELSEA. PLS.

Surprised he went to Chelsea to be honest.Top talent who'll get few games.
But then again its his loss if it doesn't workout, though I guess his and his agents bank account is pretty healthy.

Playing Oscar and Ramires leaves them very vulnerable to counter attacks in my eyes. There's not a lot of balance in that side. Also, all of these transfers surprise me as Mourinho likes that balance, he's often had a holder or two to keep things tight in the middle.

Here's my Chelsea team:

Cech
Azpillacueta------------- Cahill ------- Luiz --------Cashley

------------------no man's land --------------------------------

Mata --------- Oscar ----------- Hazard

Willian ---------- Schurrle --------- De Bruyne

They've still got Essien who can do the dirty work if needed.
But,Yes,Chelsea's offensive Midfield options are looking handsomely healthy, but I still think someone might be off.Mose's possibly the most likely.

Almost perfect, but I'd go with this:

--------------------------------------Cech-----------------------------------------

--------Mata---van Ginkel-----Hazard----Marin----De Bruyne--------
-------Willian-Schurrle-------------------Moses--Oscar--Rooney-----

treble confirmed

Showing Rooney that he'd be starting for them I dunno, I remember when it was all about the big man up front. Now its all false number 10s and who needs strikers any more.

I think with Mata that Jose has forgotten that the fastest thing in a speedy break is moving the ball, rather than the pace of the players. Although if Chelsea truly don't want him, I think he'd grace any top PL team, and I hope the PL doesn't lose him.

Still only rumours.
Though A.Madrid do have money in the bank from the Falcao transfer.

It's ridiculous there are even rumours of Mata being sold.

What is going on with Mata?
Has he got a serious injury ? or is it just Mourinho doesn't rate him?

Either way the game was missing that creative spark Mata brings and it may of opened up the game for both teams. Then again that does sound like a risk Mourinho doesn't like taking.

On his Wiki page it say he's primarily a left Winger. So he could come in handy if Jose wants to revert to a wide formation depending on the circumstance.
But other than that I'm surprised Christian Atsu would want the move as Jose history in developing and giving chances to young players is very 50/50.

Fernando Torres views on Rooney to Chelsea.
"Chelsea always want the best players and Rooney is one of them," Torres told German paper Bild.

"I admire him and it would be great to play alongside him."

Errr,yeah.

I disagree. As was going to happen we had considerably less possession than Munich but played some very good counter attacking football and had a number of opportunities to end the game winners, for a team supposedly parking the bus we were ahead twice. When Ramires went off we had very little choice but to defend which we did spectacularly until 7 seconds from the end. Lukakus penalty was incredibly bad and very disappointing but given this is a ridiculous competition its not all doom and gloom and Im sure he and everyone will get over it. It was a far superior performance from Chelsea than last year against Falcao no doubt helped by a less than stellar Bayern but it was good.

Lolz. Ramires' second "tackle" was nasty, if it wasn't a second yellow it would have been a straight red.

Well that was painfully shit.

Cole and Schurrle were very poor; Cole worked hard but got nowhere. Mata wasnt poor he was non-existent and the majority of the team quickly became sloppy (balls flying into the stand) and incredibly cynical both Mikel and Luiz lucky to be on the pitch. Hazard had the ball a lot and went again, nowhere and our almost (at one point in football history) 100 million strike pair

Everton were for the most part spot on.

Judging from the highlights Eto'o is a poor man's Torres.

Two games out of 4 without scoring. Shouldn't be happening with all the attacking talent at Chelsea, but they spent too much time buying midfielders this summer and I don't get how Eto'o at his age is a better option than Lukaku.

Should beat Basel midweek as they are at home, but the Swiss will be we'll organised.

Game against Spurs at the end of the month has always looked a good marker for both teams. Jose has to be careful Chelsea don't fall to being the 3rd best team in London
