ORIGINAL: Sinatra This is the best signing in a long time! http://www.chelseafc.com/news-article/article/3180951/title/lampard-signs I expect that is the clearest indication to date that Mourinho will be going back there. Its a shame that Chelsea / Abramovich were not able to pick a manager and stick with him for longer than a few months in the intervening period. Because the fact that Mourinho is one of the best managers out there, doesn't necessarily make him one of the best options for Chelsea imo. I just can't see what has changed since he was last there and think that both he and Abramovich are unlikely to move too far to accommodate each other over time. The leaks were that Abramovich didn't like Mourinho's style of football. Now, Chelsea seem reasonably settled with 3 attacking players off the front man, but is Mourinho really going to go attack attack attack every game? I know that Real had some big wins, but the gap in standard between Real and some of the other teams in la liga can be stark. Then there were the players that Abramovich bought that Jose didn't want. Is the owner really going to stop tinkering? I don't see that. So, I can see that some small moves could be made on each side. I could imagine that Chelsea will be a threat next season. But if we go longer than 2 or 3 seasons without another fall out I'll be amazed.
