A much improved second half, Mata is brilliant, Moses continues to impress and Luiz should be in midfield permanently, his was a lovely pass for Hazard’s goal. MARIN WAS ON THE PITCH!

So our bid to win the Europa League and maybe be one of the select few to have won all Major European Trophies...starts with Sparta Prague, so Cech can catch up which is nice. If successful it's onto either Ajax or Steaua Bucharest. Since moving up North I’ve had nothing to do on Thursday nights so I hope this Competition goes well.

Chelsea would definitely be the first team to win the CL and then the Europa League in successive seasons.

Thanks to Chelsea for getting me back on top of my work's Dream Team league. Granted it was Cazorla the other day that started the fightback but Mata, Hazard and Torres all played their part last night

Another goal for Lukaku, and a general all-round performance from him...with Sturridge seemingly off, unless Falcao or someone else comes in, I would not be surprised if he's back next week.

So a solid first half with some lovely goals from Torres and Luiz, hopefully we won’t sit back during the second half. 3-0

That was lovely football, admittedly against a young Villa side but one on a decent (if not spectacular) run. I really thought we'd struggle today. I was really pleased to see Lucas Piazón get out, tad gutted for the penalty but he has been superb for the Youth team.

8-0
Torres 3′ Luiz 29′ Ivanovic 34′
Lampard 58′ Ramires 75′, 90′ Oscar 79′ (pen) Hazard 83′

It could easily have been double figures, missed penalty, disallowed goal...

To paraphrase our previous fuckwitted, money-grabbing charman owner - I'll drive him there myself. Nowt against Chelsea but I sincerely hope it goes tits up for him wherever he goes. Let's see how far his disrupting influence, refusal to play where the manager tells him and arsehole mercenary entourage get him at a proper big club.

Thanks for the honesty horribleives, I don't know too much about that particular situation so can not really comment. I do think he is a proven goal scorer and we do need another striker what with DS apparently heading for Liverpool and at 7 million could be a bargain. Though I do hope he isn't more trouble than he's worth, we've enough dickheads as it is.

So no Ba it seems, oh well.

Also (and I understand not everyone is a lonely old miser such as myself) but have all other Chelsea fans abandoned the thread? We had a pretty good Christmas. I get you might not like Benitez but The Club is surely still the one you’ve followed most of your life? I didn’t support the appointment but it not like the sacking of Robbie was a surprise, Rafa might be a an oddball who said shit about Chelsea when he managed Liverpool (I certainly said shit) but it all seems (listening to other Chelsea Fans) a bit pathetic and petty, playground bollocks of he said/she said, he started it blah blah blah.

Oh well anyway the result against Everton was very good in my view. They had not lost at home for many an age and were the better side for the majority of the match. I was a little worried when Cech went off injured and I’m not too pleased to have Turnbull in goal at the moment but we shall see. Thibaut Courtois at Atlético would be lovely to have around at a time like this…

QPR tomorrow.

Try 1989, though I suppose I too am a glory supporter we were cruising the 2nd Division at the time...

I probably would've posted more if I wasn't under such heavy sedation...and being mainly ill/pissed/scoffing

Still no fan of Rafa but we're playing some very nice stuff at times...I guess you don't have to like the manager as I remember the days of Ian Porterfield!

Everton result was brilliant and I was unsure Frank can still do that in big games.

Ba's obviously a good player but I'm not going to be crying into my hummus that we didn't get him...I think there's a bigger fish out there to nab. Plus a young lad on loan in the black country that is scoring goals

1989 for me too by the way...

I was surprised that Chelsea put him out on loan at all. But now I've seen him play a couple of times, it makes sense. He's still too raw and needs quite a lot of match time still to develop. But, you can definitely see the flashes of a really exciting prospect.

Been a very good festive period for Chelsea. A thrapping of Villa, then a couple of tricky away ties overcome nicely. Should be able to settle back to give QPR a schooling tonight.

I was hoping that this season would be a 3-way race for the title. Win the two games in hand and Chelsea are back within a point of City.

Here is a bizarre story http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfers-andre-schurrle-remains-1513769 . Has Marin really been that bad? I can only remember seeing him on the pitch once for the team.

Playing regularly will no doubt benefit him (and West Brom) but seeing as we're short in that area it makes more sense to recall him than going out an buying someone. He's raw but he's very capable.

Seems the Ba transfer may go ahead afer all.

Don't think Marin's done much else than 10mins here and there.

As Sturridge has gone already, I can see this going through very soon.

I actually think that its a good move for Chelsea. He's a player they can drop in the first XI or bring off the bench. He's got quality, but is not such a great threat to Torres. I just really, really hate the way that Ba has gone about this.

Almost definitely means that a "dream" buy of a Cavani or Falcao or Neymar will not happen in January for them though.

Hmm having Turnbull in goal does not fill me with confidence no a matter the opposition. I really like Marin during the pre season I thought he looked a very decent prospect however both Mata and Hazard are tough competition and now Moses is getting in the first team it is more difficult for him. Having said that he is in the starting lineup tonight, so good luck to him.
