• James Marsters. To my shame, he is the soul reason why I bought it in the first place. This guy could sit and be silent for two hours and, if they filmed it,  I would most likely watch it.
  
• Kudos to Amber Benson. She wrote, directed, produced and acted in it.
  
• Chances mother was quite funny.
  
• For Buffy fans, its Spike and Tara getting it on! The vamp and the lesbian witch!

• It gives Indie films a bad name. Poor script. Bad acting. No real plot. Clumsy direction.
  
• There were musical interludes. Which were strange and went on for ages. Wanted to break that fecking guitar over that guys head.
  
• The whole thing with Nic Brendons wife Tressa Di Figlia was a odd and anti climatic. And she put on a british accent. At least I think that was what it was. Emma Caulfied was meant to play that part and I think she wouldve been better.
  
• Didnt make enough use of Andy Hallet. Who Chance was meant to be in love with  but who was only in like two scenes.
  
• James in a dress. He had on full makeup and high heels. No no no no. It looked so wrong and I dont think he liked it either.

Positives:

~ A simply phenomenal performance from Cate Blanchett. She manages to display every emotion on her face in the most subtle way - in my opinion this is her best performance in a film.
~ Great supporting cast, particularly from Geoffrey Rush as her sinister assassin/advisor.
~ Gorgeous costumes and visuals. You can't help but be swept up in the period of the film.
~ A fantastic score - at times very haunting, accompanies powerful moments such as the assassination of all the traitors and her transformation into the Virgin Queen perfectly.
~ Brilliantly depicts in a very lively way the rise of a young and care-free girl into the extraordinary woman and queen that she would become.

Negatives:
 
~ Eric Cantona's appearance is a totally unnecassary bit of casting.
~ Historical dramas aren't everyone's cup of tea. This isn't really a negative in my book!

In conclusion, I simply adore this film, it's in my top 5 films of all time!! I've never fully been able to work out why I love it so much, but I would urge anyone who would normally avoid anything historical to see this. Do it, do it NOW!

• Completely original and has new material, meaning nothing is re-used from the series, which counts for a lot for tv adapted movies.
  
• Theres a strong plot and sticks with it the whole way through. It doesnt try to piece together funny scenes to add up to a decent running time.
  
• The movie is clever in how it manages to use every single South Park character but it never feels like they are being shoe horned into the plot. Everyone has a justified part to play.
  
• The songs are just genuis. Its easy to say that Stone and Parker humour only appeals to lowest common denominator but the songs are intricate, wonderful parodies, and completely work within the story. Particulary, What would Brian Boitano Do? and Its Easy.

• Its not for people who dont like swearing, which is basically the plot of the story funny enough. If you didnt like South Park with the beeps then youll hate this with a passion.
  
• Though I liked them in it, the Satan and Saddam parts arent the strongest part of the story.

Positives
 
-Of course it was no great shock that The League present us with a very, VERY, complex  and original concept.
-This could never be deemed as another TV spin off movie. It's too dense and complicated to ever be deemed as a quick money making venture.
-The opening scene is great.
-Heir Lipp's plight is deeply touching, playing the one character that not only wants to survive but to be given the choice to change as well.

Negatives

-Unfortunately this initial promise is not carried out very well throughout the film. It rears off into a number of different directions, not all of which work.
-The Regency section falls flat. Had these characters been given their own movie I think things would be different. But alas in this film it doesn't work.
-All the cameos are pointless and add nothing overall.
-Not enough scenes with the League playing themselves. There could have been some great scenes from this but Steve is the only one who gets a lot of screen time and even his scenes are a bit weak.
-Also, though its pains me to say it, the movie actually isn't very funny. Its very good at the emotional aspect but it lacks the creepy comedy we would expect from the League.

3/5 for effort. Could have been a lot better.

4/5-a cracking film that never stops being funny

• If you like your teen movies to have an edge then this is for you. In the same vein as Heathers and Election, only waaaay darker.
  
• Evan Rachel Wood is perfect as soulless Kimberley. Not a typical busty, blonde but an ordinary looking girl who just oozes sex appeal.

• This isnt a movie to watch if you want mindless entertainment. Nobody is actually likeable and the story isnt pleasant.
  
• The climax is, to be blunt, stupid and detracts a little from Kimberleys character.
  
• Its funny but not as funny as it thinks it is.
  
• The supporting cast arent really given that much of a chance to shine. Selma Blair is criminally underused. As is Ron Livingston.
  
• James Woods role I think goes a little further than it should. He overacts terribly. His character could have been a little sublter and it would have had more impact.
