Ok, so it is not as smart as Shrek.
But see it just for the singing goat -- even funnier than a talking donkey.

This film could have been something - a cartoon spin on the  Red Riding Hood folk tale and a mixture of Kurosawa's Rashomon - but the filmmakers decide to insult the intelligence of the audience. Kids will find it utterly boring and adults will cringe at how juvenile the whole thing really is. Shrek had the right balance, it catered for both the children and the grown-ups alike. There is no excuse for producing such a yawn inducing mess of a film.

Oh, that singing goat is the single most annoying character ever put on celluloid. Come back Jar-Jar Binks, all is forgiven.

This is a crap film, a total waste of time and money.

Avoid at all cost.

I think 2 stars is a bit harsh on this. Sure its not a great movie and the animation isn't quite as good as we've grown accustomed to, but's its mostly funny throughout and there is a kind of charm to its brightly coloured landscapes and characters.
I wasn't particularly keen on the Granny or the Woodsman (Granny in particular annoyed me), but found the rest of the film a pleasant enough diversion. And yes, as previously mentioned, the singing goat is quality!

 This may not have a bigger budget or a well written script, but two stars is a bit low. The movie is a cracker, funny from the start, maybe overly immature but at the end of the day this is meant to be a over the top, pointless and histerical (the goat) kids movie and hits all the boxes for it's genre. This movie has a plot, not a strong one but the chram of the chracters and the quaint setting, and some legendary phrases; like the rant by the rabit abou keith,easily compensates for it. Have kids, they will love it.

Empire definately under-rated this one. O.k it's no Ice age, Shrek or Nemo but it is enjoyable, Funny and different to most of the genre. If you awarded half stars then it would get 3.5

 Need to double that Olly! The humour was very subtle and this is a film that I went into not expecting too much from and absolutely loved it. Especially the squirrel. The only thing I could fault is that the animation isn't as polished as some of the other releases that promise so much and deliver so little.

no way 2 stars...the movie had great references, good humor, execlent camera shots and overall was a great, enjoyable movie. It may not be a five star movie but two stars is too low

Maybe I'm just easily pleased but I really enjoyed this movie. And I think the low-budget-ness gives it a kind of indie-esque feel, a great anidote if your fed up with all the super-polished big-budget cgi animated films.

A good laugh, I would recommend!

Just saw this with my ickle cousin and after not expecting much was pleasently suprised. The animation was crappy but the humour was consitently funny and I had a big grin on my face throughout.

Did the title make sense? No, it didn't... Sense shouldn't be a necessity for kids films. Very much like shrek and Toy Story, there's some adult-ish humor to be laughed at, in the midst of an extremely compelling storyline. The animation creates quite a homliness about this movie, making you depend on the voices and the story rather than rooting for the amazing graphics.
The characters are so iconic, twitchy being my favourite, and not just another chipmunk. The characters aren't actually as awkward as many other cheap family movies. A real treat.
