 As you have a 360 I won't offer any multiplatform games but Uncharted 2 is done and dusted and can be swapped away and I've nearly rinsed Infamous.

Anything newer? Even on X360? I may just sell it right off or trade ... I dunno.

I've got a few friends who are happy to lend me pretty much the PS3 back catalog. Plus lovefilm so it's not hard for me to come across a game.

I guess I'd only swap for something I truly wanted to keep. I'd have to think about it. Thanks though.

The monitor should be fine, unless there is some super secret region detection going on in it.
I am not so sure about the size as i only upgraded my phat to 250GB and that was fine. Did find this in gamespots website however, the 2nd paragraph about rpm is very impoprtant.

Cheers but I clocked the original on the X360.

Rather than clog up this thread i'll put Resistance 3 in the swap shop when I'm ready!

 45mins to uninstall Resistance 3! Well i say 45minutes, tried to unsinstall the game and it just hung after a few minutes, then i was left with a horrible corrupted data which took a frickin age to remove!

Word of warning, if you do decide to get Resistance 3 - give yourself plenty of time to remove it....

I have a new PS3 as my old YLOD'ed 320GB was still under guarantee. Rejoice!

I clearly didn't deactivate the video option on the PS3 system under account management, which I think is why I cant find the option to open lovefilm player, iPlayer, etc. Can anyone help?

I also took the opportunity to catch up with everyone and pick up Gran Turismo 5. Does anyone have any starter tips for someone going into the game fresh. I loved 4 and am hoping I'll enjoy this as I missed out on all the hype surrounding its release.

EDIT - I've just popped the GT5 disc in for the first time and I've got nine updates to install! The first of the nine to download is 609MB

The fans on my PS3 are going into overdrive. Boot the console up and less than an hour in to a game the noise from the fans is ridiculious. Anyone had this issue? It's only occured the past few days. I'm terrified it means the console is on the way out!

Sounds ominous.  My PS3 started doing the same thing and gradually the fans started kicking in quicker and quicker until I got a YLOD about a month later.  I would play it safe and take a full system back up just in case.  If it is still under warranty and close to expiry just say it's ''broken'' and ask for a replacement.

I can't. My first PS3 broke about 3 years ago so this in the new one I got on the warrenty. How do you go about making a back up bud?

If you keep the PS3 up vertically, try using a vacuum on it might just be full of dust.

I think that's true if you want to play music and stuff from the external HD, but if you just want to back up the system it should be ok.  I can't remember if I converted my HD before I backed it up though

To be sure, there is a conversion file which is quick and painless:

Just make sure you have nothing of value on the HD before you convert it as everything on it will get wiped.

 Well we're getting it fixed at the weekend for £75, as long as it survives till the Vita comes out theres a lass at work who's going to be selling one of her 60GBs for £100, failing that if we can blag it, then CEX give £105 exchange for a working version of mine, I can put £50 to and get a 120GB Slim in part exchange

YLOD sucks, I didn't think it was that common but I seem to keep hearing more cases of it happening...

SWOT, I saw that trailer earlier today, it is full of win! Talk about fan service, I mean Kratos, Sackboy, Helghans, Ghost, Snake, Nathan Drake, and so much more hanging in the background.... awesome.

 Wish us luck guys, my Baby's in the repair shop as we speak, its costing us £75 and so long as the good folk at Game don't notice its been repaired when we take it in on the 25th November (My next pay-day I can afford it from), then we'll get £85 trade-in for it against a brand new 120GB with 3 games (FIFA '12, some driving game and anything else). I'll miss my baby though, she's served me well

 I've been invited to yet another PS3 Access event tonight! This time it's a pre-release Uncharted 3 event!

It's taking place quite late tonight at the Gamestation in the city centre. It'll be a late one so I'll post my thoughts and whatnot tomorrow.
