Probably will not get MW3 until a while after it's been released, not really bothered, I just want to play the campaign and see what happens to the characters really. That and Spec Ops.

The big two for me are Arkham City and Battlefield 3. Already pre-ordered the limited edition of BF3, and will most definitely pick up the collectors edition of Arkham City, looks quite enticing.

I have exactly the same strategy for MW-3.
My pre-orders are
Arkham City
Uncharted 3
Assassins Creed : Revelation
ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD

Maybe the Metal Gear HD collection, but I already have the standard and special versions of 2 and 3 on the PS2.

Dead Island
Resi 4 HD
ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD
Batman Arkham City
Uncharted 3
House of the Dead Overkill Recut

All must have's for me. Still have loads to get through though. Don't find much proper game time these days.

Also will add the new Star Trek game thats coming out in Autumn I believe, if that's any good, it will be game heaven with Batman AC

Plus, how could I forget, the return of Hitman in Absolution - an absolute 'must have'.

My pre-orders are:

Batman Arkham City
Skyrim
Uncharted 3
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Battlefield 3

I'm tempted by ICO and Shadow of the Colossus BUT I honestly can't see any improvements in the graphics from PS2 to PS3. Maybe I'm missing something but all the video's I've seen look identical.

Mr pre-orders already confirmed with the shops are....

. Batman Arkham City: Collectors Edition
. Deux ex: Augmented Edition
. Battlefield 3: Ltd Edt w/physical warfare pack
. Assassins Creed Revelations: Collectors Edition

At the weekend will more than likely pre-order Dead Island as some nice DLC with it (blood arena or something like that) and the cheaper Uncharted 3 set.

Im a collectors set whore basically

Have no fear SWOT! http://www.computerandvideogames.com/315761/sony-confirms-uk-ps3-price-cut-to-pound199/

This autumn looks too good for gaming. It's a shame I'm going to uni with the intention of being sociable because the only one I'll pick up will be Uncharted at Christmas.

Only slightly pissed off that had to buy a new PS3 a couple of weeks ago

On a more serious note, that is a seriously competitive price (can't see anymore price cuts), surely Sony must be making a loss on it?

It's an insane few months for quality looking games. I'm going to pick up:

Deus Ex
Madden 12
Fifa 12 (really cannot wait)
Battlefield 3 (looks better than COD and I loved BF2)
Uncharted 3
Skyrim (been waiting for this for 5 years. I've had to just stop thinking about it, the wait is too much)
And maybe the Team ICO collection as I never finished SOTC and never playedIco.

take it, and buy more controllers! come the end of term you will be searching for a cheap night of fun and 4 player Rag Doll Kung Fu, plus cider is an awesome evenings entertainment.

Just don't forget to get equivilent female "bait" so you get members of the opposite sex coming round too...

Upcoming games I'll be getting

Batman Arkham City
BattleField 3
MW3
FIFA 12

And maybe uncharted 3, although I've hardly played 2 and never played the first.

I JUST GOT MY FIRST PLATINUM! Played through Uncharted 2 on Crushing hard to earn this beauty. Although I have to say that Crushing hard was a bit disappointing. It wasn't that difficult, only a few really challenging bits and I'm not that great a gamer.

Right, I'm thinking that I might be interested in purchasing a PS3. Being a complete noob to non nintendo consoles, which one should I get? Things like hard drive size, slim console or normal console etc...

Just assume that price is not an issue

[EDIT]

Oh, and is it worth getting that Playstation Move thing?

That should get you on your way sir! A pretty reasonable price with a good game included (although I must add that you should probably buy and play through the first one first).

I don't personally have move as I don't really want to fork out on it and it doesn't look like there's that much to offer, but ask anyone that does actually have it for a proper opinion.

ALSO, slightly off topic from this, but if anyone wants to trade any games, I have a few going on the Swap Shop if anyone is interested.

I don't have a Move, but it seems like more of a family/party accessory.  I would save your monies and buy the exclusives, most of them you canfind dirt cheap (I hear Demon's Souls is practically a steal these days ).  Don't worry about the HD either, you can always upgrade it later if you reach the limit, which is unlikely unless you are going to store movies and stuff on there.

Don't get the Move!

It's not bad as such, just that the novelty factor will wear off and it'll end up as clutter in a drawer.

Just watched a trailer for Payday : The Heist, does not look bad at all.
Has anyone bought/pre ordered these Play deals on PSN (SF3 - Online, The Baconing, Renegade Ops, Blood Rayne)?
Renegade Ops looks fun, 4 player online.

I thought Mafia II was brilliant. Gameplay isn't anything ground breaking, but the story is brilliant. It took a few missions to get into it but I thought it was superb. It's one of those 'just one more mission' kind of games. And the 40's/50's setting is great. Just don't expect GTA Godfather.

Although you could probably pick it up for a lot cheaper than 20 wing wangs these days.

Cool thanks for this, I have The Godfather on my PS2 which I thought was brilliantly done and this sounded similar, I took on board from reviews the scope to move around wasn't great and was very linier but from what your saying JV I think I'll give it a go. Cheers.

Bah I could have got it for 165 from Tesco Direct this week ...

I can still get it for 170 ... I know it's only a fiver more but annoying!

I was holding off to see if I can afford it ... I may just treat myself ...

Bah I should have bought it at 165 fuck the bills and the future. Now I'm putting it off again.

I want it mainly for Blueray and streaming my lovefilm account etc .. in fact i's all about my love film as i'll be renting my bluerays and games from there. But yeah ... time and moneys against me ...
