I've been giving Uncharted 2's multiplayer another go since the U3 beta ended. It definitely feels like a step down from that, with a lot of the new features from the beta missing, but it's still an excellent multiplayer experience and still well worth playing.

My repaired PS3 lasted about 5 months   Can't complain too much though, managed to back up most of my data saves apart from my current progress on Dead Space over the last couple of days.  So I'll have to replay that again which is most annoying. Still, guess I'll be getting one of those new shiny (matte ) PS3 slims next week.  Any heads up on good PS3 deals going around online or instore?

Even more time for Indysgill to pull ahead though

I got mine from Argos on buy now, pay in 12 months. Will be paying it off 7 months early tomorrow, doing it this way allowed me to get a 320 Gb model and 3 year extended warranty on it too. Better than any bargains going on now.

SWOTBM was looking to get a NEW PS3, not a repair job, that's what I was going on about in my post. Anyway, I don't see the point of repairing an already repaired console. It would probably make things fail again, but quicker. Easier to get new one, you also get a one year garuntee, should it fuck up.

^^^ Yeah, also I should add that my uncle knows someone who maybe able to repair it (again) for free.  But I'm not holding out any hope for that, other than getting my Dead Space disc back.  Anyway, just about to go and do some scouting on the best deals in town. I have a fair few games to trade in as well so I may yet be back online tonight...

Is it possible to change your PSN name?

I don't think so.

EDIT

Just did a search and this came up

The PLAYSTATION® Network handle cannot be changed unless a new account is created. You'll have to use a different User ID (e-mail address to sign in) and then a different online handle must be created that has not been used by any other player. :]

I haven't got that many saves I'm worried about losing but would that stop me playing LBP and Infamous, which I downloaded from the free offer?

It should not.
You may need to activate the authorisation option in the account management section of the PS3 front-end, so that the new account can use the games.

That may not be required if you set up the new ID with the same email address/password as the old account, but change the email/password for the old account first.

Unlike the 360, the PS3 games etc that you've already downloaded appear on the other accounts as well. I have a US account, and whatever I've downloaded from there shows up on my UK account too.

I was considering buying Paradise, but from Gamespot's reviews, i'd probably prefer the linear nature of Takedown.

Have you tried Need For Speed: Most wanted? It's quite similar to Takedown in places.

So, with the annual autumnal glut of games due to start, I was wondering what everybody is looking forward to?

looking at the list we've got

2 new Rugby games (RWC and Jonah Lomu rugby)
Dead Island
Resistance 3
Resi 4 HD
F1 2011
WRC
splinter cell trilogy HD
Fifa/PES
ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD
Batman Arkham City
Battlefield 3
Ratchet and Clank: all 4 one
Uncharted 3
COD: MW3
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I think that I'll pick up a few of them, depending on finances - Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 definitely, but I'm not sure about the rest I'll probably pick up MW3, just because it's COD and I'm a sucker for its super-competivity online
maybe F1.

I'm looking forward to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City. I might also pick up the Splinter Cell trilogy and Team Ico collection seeing as I missed some of those games when I had a PS2, but other than that I'm not bothered about most of those games.

Splinter Cell trilogy HD (only if this has trophies)
ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD
Batman Arkham City
Battlefield 3
Uncharted 3
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Dark Souls
Journey
Metal Gear Solid Collection HD (it has trophies )

Those are the ones I'll be picking up.  May check out Deus Ex as well, looks interesting.  I still feel like I've missed out a really important game though

The one game I am looking forward the most is Batman Arkham City. I loved the first one but thought it was too linear but I have heard they opened this new game up more.

Probably will not get MW3 until a while after it's been released, not really bothered, I just want to play the campaign and see what happens to the characters really. That and Spec Ops.

The big two for me are Arkham City and Battlefield 3. Already pre-ordered the limited edition of BF3, and will most definitely pick up the collectors edition of Arkham City, looks quite enticing.

Arkham City is a day of release purchase.
Dead Island, I've read a couple of worrying previews that have picked out a couple of niggles that'd P me off, sp I might wait n see, plus I celebrate my 3rd 30th Birthday less than a fortnight after its release so I may be able to blag a copy as a pressie.
Metal Gear Solid HD collection? = Day 1.
F1 2011 is a possibility as is Resistance 3.

Other than that I'll be waiting for reviews.
