Just re-watched Aliens for about the zillionth time (it is just that good) and it occurred to me that I couldn't decide who I prefer out of the hugely talented Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen and Bill Paxton. So for whatever reason, who's your favourite of James Cameron's three regulars and why? I'm still undecided, but Iím edging towards Michael Biehn just cause' he's so underrated.

Paxton. Great guy. Always worth watching, and excellent in the TV show Big Love. I also like Henriksen as well, even more so after watching Millenium. I've never really understood the love for Biehn. He ain't bad, but he isn't all that special either.

Biehn, just because Kyle Reese and Hicks were two of the best male action heroes ever!

Biehn without a doubt! I prefer his character in aliens although im not really sure why, but his defining moment, is the delivery of the simplest of lines in terminator (in manly angry voice) "what yeeeeeear??!?!"

Kyle Reese is a fascinating character as well as a cool action hero. Strangely we know very little about him in the film.

That's why I'd love to see a prequel/sequel that focused on him as a teen, growing up in the ruins of LA (Mad Max meets killer robots).

Paxton is a real scene-stealer at times in Aliens because he is so entertainingly over the top as the hysterical marine Hudson, however all three roles are great. Hicks is not just a typical bravado-filled marine, he is clearly a cool-headed intelligent soldier who actually cares and Micheal Biehn's performance captures this perfectly. Bishop is also superb - Lance Henriksson gives a superbly creepy performance.

Aliens is just characterised by loads of brilliant performances - I watched it again after ages a couple of weeks ago and then re-watched it with the commentary. You really have to swear - it's fucking brilliant man!!!!

All three are complete legends.  Aliens is my favourite film, period.  And Michael Biehn is my favourite actor, so, him.

Paxton all the way, man!
Consider his supporting roles in Aliens and True Lies. Now add his performances in Near Dark and  A Simple Plan. Top this off with his role as actor and director of Frailty and teh choice is clear.
I like Henrickson, he's done some interesting stuff, but doesn't quite have Paxton's range and much as I like Biehn in Terminator and Aliens that pretty much sums up his career.
So that's it, Man, Game Over!

I'd have to go with Bill Paxton because of his superb performance as this asshole!

Hey that looks pretty good. Now cook yourself one, dickweed.

The Wire is surely the best TV show ever broadcast in America. This claim isn't based on my having seen all the possible rivals for the title, but on the premise that no other program has ever done anything remotely like what this one does, namely to portray the social, political, and economic life of an American city with the scope, observational precision, and moral vision of great literature.

The Wire has never won an emmy? [It] deserves the Nobel Prize for Literature!

Having watched Aliens earlier, I have to say Hicks all the way!
"It's game time."

Plus I've realised, after years of repression, that I actually fancy Biehn...

Ooh toughie! Between Lance and Michael I think, Lance was great in Millenium (damn it Carter there was no reason to cancel it!) and Michael for that declaration of love Kyle Reece confesses to Sarah

Yeah, if he'd got it on with Ripley he could've had the two toughtest sexy-female action heros of all time!

Hey, if we're talking Cameron's regualars then why isn't Jenette Goldstein being considered here?

Look how pissed she is that you didn't include her, man.

And she turned up for part-Aliens-reunion Near Dark. Something Biehn didn't manage.

Spoilers for the few remaining people on the planet that have not seen the Alien movies!
I just can't figure out why Cameron didn't keep him in the third, when I got around to watching it and the film explained what happened to newt and the marine I wasn't very happy - now I can't watch the sequel with thinking how utterly pointless

***Alien 3 spoilers***
David Fincher directed the third film and I think from what I saw in the making of docs  that they wanted it closer to the tone of the first film. I think having Hicks in the story would have taken it too close to the second film but I was quite gutted when they killed him off at the start.

****************ALIENS 3 SPOILERS************************

I was similarly heartbroken to learn Hicks was dead! Newt I didn't give a shit about, but Hicks dying was gutting. Although I think it makes technical sense within the film; Hicks & Ripley were getting...close....and it might have lead to a romance subplot that, while gratifying in some ways would probably have ruined the film in others.

Paxton. He is a terrific actor and vastly under rated. He also wrote, directed, and starred in the terrific Frailty. Very good film.

Lance Henrickson is good but strictly b list.

And Michael Biehn is another one who never really got the chance to shine other than in camerons movies. Aliens, Terminator, The Abyss.

Lance Henriksen and Michael Biehn are both excellent actors; but Paxton just edges it for me, constantly entertaining and could do with more stretching roles.

Henriksen. True, he's made some poor choices in the past (as have the other two Cameron regulars), but when he's good, he's very, very good. Check him out in Near Dark and Jennifer Eight-he's totally believable playing good or bad guys, and his work in Chris Carter's shamefully neglected Millennium is one of the best TV performances ever. Give him the room, and he really delivers the goods. Top notch.

50/50 between Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton, for me. Both incredible in Aliens. Lance Henrikson was in AvP, so...

Paxton for me too. I'm a big fan of his. He's sexy and talented and just brings the right amount of charisma and humour and watchability to everything he does. I love Big Love which is a new tv show about Polygamy for those of you who don't know and He's just great in every film he's ever been in. Well with maybe the exception of True Lies. I hated his character in that

I was flicking through the channels the other day and what should be on the Zone horror channel but Lance Henriksen in a film called Pumpkinhead. Oh Dear
