I was hoping for this 2 come out, allthough i read about in in the August issue (2005) And the first 2 are brilliant. 2 was much better than 1 and 3 is gonna be better than 2. As long as Antonio Banderas is still in it. Oh and Justin Timberlake is only in for 1 sec i dislike him.

The second one was funny so the third should be just as good. Hey, shrek must be doin' somethin' right if it warrants a 4th film and a spin-off. Also does anyone know anything about Pixars upcoming Wall-E? All I know is that its based on a robot kid named Wall-E (a play on the name Wally) and that its a 2008 release, anyone got anymore plot info? Email me knorrh87@hotmail.com

No-one else that excited then?

The trailer looks really funny and the audience reaction when it was shown before I saw Spider-Man 3 the other day was great. A universal “ahhh” went up when Puss did his patented bow with hat.

Looking forward to the Donkey/Puss body swapping, has plenty of potential, as does the Princesses vs Charming and his scary tree crew!

For the character he's playing/voicing, he's probably very good casting: that it is a precocious brat who may just be special.

Totally agree Puss in boots if fab. I think the reparteee he has with Donkey is classic buddy dialogue, "You still look like an ass to me", that kind of thing. Bitching at eachother, but their characters contrast so well.

Shrek 2 in general isn't as clever or good as the first film, but there's more than enough good stuff there. Really it's more a mark of how good Shrek was, than Shrek 2 being bad. The story isn't so much an inverse fairy tale anymore, rather an alternate version, and the themes are still there. Who do you want to be or how do you define happiness. And they throw in some more, with the familial relationships as experienced by Fiona.

And it's all brilliantly put together, there's never a dull moment. I especially love the dinner scene "Shrek... Fiona" with the camera cutting from various povs around the table. It's funny and technically dazzling. And the introduction of Puss is class, he's one scary feline, until he succumbs to the furball.

I hope there's enough material to explore in a third one. Donkey and Puss hitting the road would be good enough though!

I completely agree.  Also, the trailer for the third one is quite funny, so it looks like they've recaptured the fun of the first two.

I didn't think the trailer was funny at all. same old jokes just to make more money.
I hope you're all still this enthusiastic when shrek 5 is coming out.

I loved the first film, and the second one was almost as good as it's predecessor. But the gags can surely only carry so far before we end up with another Spiderman 3 on our hands; something painfully old and stretched out far longer than it can supposed to reach.

The film has got some negative reviews in America, some comparing it to Spiderman 3.

I saw Shrek 3 in the States, and it is really not funny. Apart from a few minor gags in the later part of the movie. All the jokes have been done before (especially the Charlie's Angels thingy). Timberlake's character is a piss-poor job as is Fiona. What happened to her? Shrek is becoming less and less of the lovable yet disgusting ogre he used to be. Oh, I'll stop because my writing about just makes my experience worse and worse

I saw the preview last night, and I have to say I did enjoy it, but it doesn't touch the previous two installments. There is less for adults, and the jokes are few and far between. The trailer spoils quite a few of the funniest jokes as well...

It has to be pointed out however, that the kids that were in the cinema watching this KIDS movie, seemed completely happy and entertained. 2 stars is harsh, I'd give it 3.
