I did get to a point where I just focused on story missions and ignored everything else.

To be fair, the reason I rushed it was because it was a rental from Lovefilm and I wanted to get it back to them so I could play Halo 4. Nothing to do with quality!

Agreed. After the initial buzz I found the world / characters / story completely boring. It was then endless slogs of fetch quests and levelling.

A few mates played on the PC and loved it ... though ...

Right, it's payday and my Christmas bonus is burning a hole in my pocket. I'm thinking of either Far Cry 3, Lego LOTR or *gulp* BF3 Premium Edition. Straw pole - what should I get? Does anyone still play BF3?

I highly recommend Far Cry 3...seriously good game. Can't comment on the MP as it doesn't interest me but the single player is just MASSIVE.

Finally I should be back online Friday no thanks to the BT Engineer fuckwit who went to the wrong cocking address on Dec 18th. Over 6 weeks without the internet thats 6 weeks gone of Gold subscription

So do we all still play BF3 (standard, no airy fairy prestigious gold add-on muthafuckas?) Or is it straight to L4D DLC?

So, anyone get the email offer from NowTV?

800MS points free for starting the free trial then a further 1600 points if you become a customer (�8.99 a month for 3 months). As I don't have Sky Movies (Now gives you access to the 11 movie channels) and I've just cancelled my Lovefilm sub, I might give this a go for a few months.

Apparently Skype is replacing Xbox LIVE chat, which to me is great news. I could now message or talk to friends from my phone or computer whilst they're on the Xbox to let them know I'll be on in a few minutes or something.

So my Live is basically fucked. No router problems with all the other bits around the house hooked up to it, so I'm thinking part of the 360 isn't working any more. Suggestions?

We could probably do with more information to help diagnose the issue.

What's actually wrong with your LIVE connection? What's your Internet setup like and what have you done to rule the router out as the problem?

Router is sat there with a PC, a laptop and a PS3 all using it. The PC is wired, the others are wireless. It never causes any issues. 360 is wired, but today tells me it can't find the IP address. Now the thing is last time it told me the internet connection was fine, and the connection to Live was the problem. Then the day before it said the router was causing the problem. Since it cant seem to make up its mind and no other issues have turned up with a fairly reliable connection for everything else we have... I figure the XBox is doing this. Its just reeling of potential stuff automatically instead of really being able to diagnose the problem. Are these things prone to wearing out? I checked the ethernet leads and they are attached properly. Its annoying since I don't think its ever been a problem in all these years.

Could you try your Xbox on someone else's router?
