Just givin' my support to the best comedy program still on the air.

Anyone else a fan?

The Wire is surely the best TV show ever broadcast in America. This claim isn't based on my having seen all the possible rivals for the title, but on the premise that no other program has ever done anything remotely like what this one does, namely to portray the social, political, and economic life of an American city with the scope, observational precision, and moral vision of great literature.

The Wire has never won an emmy? [It] deserves the Nobel Prize for Literature!

I haven't seen it, but I saw Danny De Vito on The Daily Show a couple of weeks ago promoting it.

What channel is it on?

In America it's on the F/X channel.

I don't exactly know what channel it's on in the UK, but I had heard that the first season was being shown over there. For some reason I think it might be on the Bravo channel.

I don't like watching things on Bravo- it's a bit Maidens of Sherwood Forest.

I wonder why it's not on the UK version of FX...

I meant to say second best. After The Office (American). Or is it third best?

I laugh my arse off at Monk, but is it defined as a comedy? Oh well.

It's Always Sunny.... is still a hilarious show.

Just look at the Episode Titles. All Political Correctness has been thrown out the window.

The Gang Gets Racist
Charlie Wants an Abortion
Underage Drinking: A National Concern
Charlie Has Cancer
Gun Fever
The Gang Finds a Dead Guy
Charlie Got Molested

Charlie Gets Crippled
The Gang Goes Jihad
Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare
Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom
Hundred Dollar Baby
The Gang Gives Back
The Gang Exploits A Miracle
The Gang Runs for Office
Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass
Dennis and Dee Get a New Dad

It's sublimely twisted genius.

My favourite factoid is that they toured with the stage version of The Nightman Cometh.

Saw the first season and absolutely loved it, however, finding links to season 2 has been far too hard, especially the first few eps, so my viewing has staled over the last year and change.

The most recent season, that finished a few weeks back, might be the best one they've done. It's at least been at it's most consistently funny since season one. "Mac & Dennis break up" might be my favorite episode they've ever made next to "The gang solves the energy crisis" from season 4. The christmas special this year was really great as well.

This show is a godsend, does everything that any of the big networks simply wouldn't allow in the slightest and it just proves it's greatness.

Stupidly great, and I also loved that it's Christmas Blu-ray was simply the DVD Upscaled with a warning on the back stating "THIS IS SIMPLY THE DVD VERSION UPSCALED" rofl.

I love it. It makes me feel like a normal, well adjusted human being. The Nightman Cometh was complete genius although I think Kitten Mittens and the Manhunters episodes are my favourites. Every character is pitiful and pretty detestable but I love to watch all their stupid plans inevitably fall apart.

Finally caught up fully, and The Nightman Cometh is, in fact, the single greatest 20 minutes of sheer painful genius ever. Especially DeVito's slight mumbling of Boy's Soul, so so wrong.

A mate showed me this a few months back but forgot all about it as I was wasted but it's now up on Netflix...I am making full use of my free month on Xbox going through this and many other shows

Fantastic show! Halfway through season 2 and the first episode of that has been the funniest so far for me! Charlie dressing up as a war vet was brilliant! DeVito is great too...I just love how they just try and stitch each other up all the time and am looking forward to the 50 or so episodes I've got left

Can't believe it wasn't picked up by a proper channel here in the UK and I couldn't believe that season one is from 2005...I'd highly recommend checking it out

They recently released the first season on DVD in the UK, but aside from that I doubt any channel will pick this up, its a shame when really good comedies like this, Parks and Rec and Community dont seem to find a good channel here in the UK, but other less than mediorce sitcoms make their way onto big channels like comedy central and E4.

Started watching this a couple of months ago and have now caught up on the entire Series. I love Community, Parks & Rec etc, but for me, this is the best Comedy on TV right now. I'm obsessed with it! Also, Dennis, who started out as my least favourite character, has gone on to become my most highly rated. His 7 year long transformation from a horny ladies-man all the way to a legitimate sexual predator has been a joy to watch!

Started watching this recently (now on S4).

Absolutely hilarious so far. The actors are seriously amazing in this. So many LOL moments.

Charlie, Mac and Frank are my favourites.

On S7 now. Not a blip in quality so far. My new favourite comedy show.

Mac is one of the greatest characters ever.

This (along with Breaking Bad) is the best reason to get Netflix.

One of the greatest comedy shows ever (definitely the best cable). Watched 7 seasons in 12 days. I heard it's been renewed until S9 with the possibility of S10, good news given the weakest season was the first. My favourite character is Mac, but the best performer on the show is Charlie Day. I also like how the three main guys have written almost all of the episodes themselves. Can't recommend it highly enough, If you like good comedy please check it out. It's all free on Netflix!
