Last one I bought was The Dark Knight Collectors Edition as an MP3 download off of Amazon. Been after the The Dark Night OST for a while but when I saw this edition I happily coughed up the extra. Not fussed about the remix tracks but the original music is just stunning and it's been playing on my iPod pretty much constantly for the last couple of weeks.

'Drive' soundtrack.

I like it but have found myself only listening to the first 3 tracks, the rest are a bit boring!

Received this today..

One of Goldsmiths best from the 90s.Only 30 mins was available on the original release back in '94.This new version has the full 85 min from the score.Plus the original album!

I couldn't wait that long, Gimli - I'm an impatient person. But do you reckon that we'll hear more of the music Shore wrote for Dwarrowdelf in The Hobbit? Maybe if Balin mentions something of it perhaps?

I'd love it if it was. It's one of the best little themes from the films and it only pops up about three times in a few short minutes. It's a gorgeous piece.

I've ordered it from amazon with second class post so I will have seen the film before it turns up.

EDIT: That track is my favourite of the three soundtracks, closely followed by The White Tree from ROTK.

I honestly don't think I have a favourite track from the LOTR films. There are just so many great pieces, it's impossible to pick. Sometimes it's the heavy, bombastic action, bits I prefer, others it's the softer, lovely choral bits.

I've been told it might not be wise for me to order the Hobbit soundtrack with Christmas not so far away. I certainly can't wait until I do get it though. An amazingly good score that suited the film just as much as Shore's work for the three LOTRs.

EDIT: Should have mentioned this earlier but as ace as the music was, there are some really odd musical choices most notably...

SPOILERS FOR THE HOBBIT

When Thorin runs towards Azog near the end of the film, we have Nazgul msuic playing. That seems like a particularly bonkers theme to be using at this time. It'll be interesting to hear when I get the soundtrack if that's how it is on the CD, but considering how well Shore played with themes in LOTR I doubt it. There are a few instances in LOTr in which scores music was replaced with other segments of the score and I wonder if that's what's happened here?

I bought the Moon OST by Clint Mansell on Friday. Had seen the film at Christmas and whilst being blown away by just how great the film itself was I realised I finally recognised the source of music that I had been hearing for ages soundtracking so many clips on shows. Got it on Friday and am really enjoying hearing it in its entirety now. I will get Requiem for a Dream next I think.
