Bought this for my kids on DVD the other day. Needless to say they haven't stopped watching it every time they get the chance. Seen this years ago at the cinema and absolutely loved it, so it was great to see it on DVD with my own kids.

Just found this topic.

I love Labyrinth and am in a state of shock when someone hasn't seen it.

A scene during 'Magic Dance' when a goblin emerges from beneath a paving slab and switches around Sarah's mark - "Your Mother is a Franny aardvark!" - Funny! I LOVE LABYRINTH! I have the special edition dvd, the soundtrack, NECA action figure of Jareth...

....novelisation by A C H Smith (who also did The Dark Crystal)...

...and the Marvel Comics!

It's on Blu-ray already?

Hmm, the cover art blows, but I may have to rediscover this film - haven't seen it in years!

I haven't seen The Dark Crystal for years, it never held the same appeal as Labyrinth for me.

The Dark Crystal Scares me.

I've introduced Little HQ to Labyrinth, he loves it and sings Dance Magic, Dance. It's great!

Wonderful creativity at work here, love the designs of the various creatures. And it was fun to learn from the commentary track that Terry Jones came up with a lot of the little details for them when the puppets and costumes were shown to him. For example the funny bird-hat on the 'wise' old man.

Watched this the other day for the first time in ages, still love it, I never really "got" Bowies songs when I was a kid so I never paid much attention to them but the older I got the more I loved them, As The World Falls Down is one of my favoutite Bowie tracks period. An Connelly was my first childhood crush as well

I think that THE DARK CRYSTAL is a somewhat more darker film and a lot of people just don't like the idea that there are no human performers / actors on screen. (personally, I love it)

Heh - strangely enough I was having a conversation about this film on the 'well delivered lines' thread. The above should have come to mind immediately.

Only got the soundtrack the other day. Love it. Such a great film I've loved since I can remember. And it was great introducing this to the kids a couple of years back. I remember the wife buying it for me one day. I'm surprised I loved it as much as I used to. I was expecting it to remain one of those films that is best off as a childhood memory. But it really is a wonderful film. Great to sit and watch with the family. Though I'm sure they don't enjoy my Ludo impressions as much.

This thread has made me realise that we ain't seen Kazuya for a while...

Fact in Liverpool. It was an orginal reel complete with wobbly lines and everything! You could just feel the audience attempting to surpress the urge to sing, before giving in and 'quietly' singing along to Magic Dance.

I'd love to see this at the cinema. Unfortunately, due to being an infant, never saw this at the cinema. I don't think I did anyway.

I'd love to have my own cinema and just show classic films.

I never got to see it at the cinema, I wasn't actually born, but I remember being really young, watching it (and thinking it was a horror film) and loving it ever since. I still have my old carboot sale VHS that my gran bought me somewhere.
