Wellbeck's touch has been terrible...Bang! Rooney fucks my bets!

What were you betting on? if it was Welbeck to score first, then you have no one but yourself to blame and should have just set fire to your money instead.

Shhhhh he still thinks Torres will come good

Ha! Torres is dead to me. I had Neymar and Gerrard first scorers.

Nice to see players asking for the ball in tight situations, and generally doing well with it. Cleverly, Wilshere and Johnson all looking very comfortable.

I've heard that it's so it doesn't clash with any of the soaps on in Brazil...games are usually on TV after the soaps at like 9.30-10pm. That would mean kicking off here at midnight.

If you live in Brazil, stick CopacabanaEnders on, this one's done.

I said this on Twitter, but Wilshere makes so much difference to England. He's like a Spaniard with an English mentality.

Yeah, England didn't start well and were generally just scrambling the ball away, but as the half wore on the midfield three were really allowed to get on the ball more and - gasp! - play football. Wilshere's been obviously the best player so far. /biased

Terry Venables has a scary beard, he looks like Satan or something.

surprisingly a good performance.
Wilshere,Rooney,Cleverly performing really well,Gerrard keeping the game ticking over in the deep midfield role and Johnson and Walcott combining well down the right.
Cole and Cahill seem a tad shaky at the back while Welbeck, though he is a tireless worker, isn't a left-wing attacker ie he's a striker/link-man forward.

But positives all-round.

I fully expect either Rooney or Wilshere to allow their frustrations at being shown what true skill is to boil over, and at least one will get sent off

Midfield is looking good, always seems to be space for either Wilshire or Cleverley. Welbeck shouldn't be on the wing, his touch is poor most of the time but other than that it's been enjoyable to watch England rather than the opposition for once.

Oscar is the shit though. Great little player.

now Ronaldinho will never be able to show Wilshere what true skill is :/

though Roy must be getting confident if he's going to try out the classic Lampard/Gerrard combo.

do Brazil have Andre Santos to bring on from the bench? He's their only hope now.

I'm starting to worry people thought that post was serious.

Anyway, I've enjoyed this game so far, Cahill's brainfart notwithstanding. England have looked uncharacteristically comfortable on the ball and sharp with their passing.

Great stuff from England. Saw out the win (forget the bullshit rankings, Brazil are always going to be tough opponents) and did it playing some really good football at times. Well chuffed.

I was at Wembley when we last beat Brazil, my first England game...terrible game and Lineker's goal was awful! My overriding memory of the match was how bad Stuart Pearce was and he was getting absolute abuse from the crowd. My next memory was the rivers of piss running down Wembley way and also down the steps in the stadium. Even at 11 years old I was kinda used to it as I'd been to a fair few Chelsea games by then but I was with my Mum for England v Brazil! Bit of an eye opener for her I think!

It was my second trip to Wembley in the space of a week as I'd been there to see Tony Dorigo win Chelsea the Zenith Data Systems cup with a glorious free kick!

Just seen the other results, and while I don't think Norn Iron will be happy with a draw against Malta it seems to have been a good night for Britain and Ireland. Happy day.

I didn't think I would ever say England were a better, more entertaining team (in a non-comical way) than Brazil, but they were. Brazil were depressingly crap. The Great Entertainers are long gone.

Won't be one bit surprised if they get dumped out at the group stages in 2014.

Brazil were shit,no doubt about that.
I can only think of Oscar as a Brazilian standout and even then I'd say he only shown glimpse's of his potential.
No swagger, confidence or magic, just a extremely flat performance.
