Did you know that there is a nutter in my office?  Actually, her last name is Nutter.

I was about to moan about how incredibly hard it was to figure out how to simply give myself an avatar and signature...  Then I found this thread...  But still! This is by far the longest I've actually spent doing these things on a forum.  And I'm male, I don't like looking for help :\

Hi Mr Bungle welcome aboard.    I am new to the site and got a bit mixed up but I am taking it easier as I think I was trying to do too much too soon.  There is a lot of topics to get involved in so I am sure you will enjoy yourself.

Your avatar and signature is very impressive

Hi I realise this has probably been asked in some form already but could someone mind clarifying something for me? I mention The Best Looking Man Challenge in my sig and wanted to do that magic thing where you click on the words and it takes you to that thread.... I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computers (seriously I only learned how to properly post pictures last month) so if someone could provide or point out the place where the 'even idiots can do it' guide is I would be really greatful.

Sorry again if this has been answered a million times! So sorry.

I think you have to use a code such as this:

[*url=http://copy and paste you link*]your text here[*/url*]

You need to delete the stars from the code and close the gaps,( keeping the brackets),  I've just used the stars to display the code properly.

You don't need http:// twice, so paste over that part too, then you write what you want the link to say, rather than your text here.

How do I set up a poll on a thread? Is it something only moderators can do?

I don't know if this has been asked before, but in the My Empire section, how do you hide your real name? I've noticed that some people have got it hidden, and I want mine to go into hiding.

I think (hope) that your real name is only visible to you.  So you're safe

Puzzles me I have quite a good signature but it doesn't fit  - they seem quite small.   My signature moves but it is not complex and it is a case of find the right pictures to put together but one of the moderators will help you I am sure.   They are very good

Well if you want a little X-Man let me know, it won't move though. Mine only does because I'm special. Other ones you just have to look on the web. Try googling "animted sprites". They have to be less than 5kb though.

To put them in your signiture just insert the URL between the image brackets.

With the very resourseful Mr.Jackman at  very convincing 6'3" why would I want a 5'3" dwarf.   This guy moves like no one else -  and iIdo look on the web often.  But on the other hand I am not really sure what you are trying to put across   ? ? ? ? ? ?

It's probably been asked before, but how do you find one of those groovy moving avatars?  I'm no longer happy with mine, gives out the wrong vibe for me!!

Any and all suggestions welcomed with open arms and some nice chocolate Rich Tea.  Maybe even a cup of tea.

Type how you want the link to be called here

That should work!

You change the colour by using [ color=blue ]your text here[ /color ] without the spaces and by using [ font=whatever ] [ /font] again without spaces.  Actaully, I just use [ font=verdana ] at the beginning of mine, it saves on characters!
