Gremlins!

I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work for you.  The code looked fine.  So yep, gremlins it is!

Hmmm... I went into your avatar upload section and tried uploading an avatar that I saved to www.imageshack.us.  It was this one:

I don't see it showing up.

Send me a PM with an image you would like to use and we'll see if we can get it working.

How do you clever buggers make animation avatars (like film clips etc.). I'd really like to learn how to make such an avatar. I have photoshop, if that's any help.

You need ImageReady, which normally comes with Photoshop. Should be some basic instructions in the Make Me An Avatar thread somewhere

Ok, thanks. I've got Imageready, I'll have a look for that thread now.

Bond: link here. That's if you want one made. Basically what you do is load a folder full of stills into ImageReady, choose the delay between frames, size it properly and save as a gif. Quite simple assuming you've got the video clip you want.

Couple of technical questions:

1. Is there any way to view who has voted in a poll? I don't need to know what (options) for, just who has clicked an option. It's a poll in one of my threads, I wanted to remove the poll soon and I would like a record of who has voted in case I recreate it.

2. Can we delete our own threads? I know that we can delete our own posts, so wondered if we could do so with threads.

Ok I'm trying out that photo posting and prehaps you mods could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Link codes are: [ url=http://_________ ]http://eur.yimg.com/i/xp/premier_photo/c/cf7e1ad71e.jpg[ /url ]
And image codes are: [ image ]YOUR IMAGE HERE[ /image ]

To get an image to link, put the two together comme ca:
[ url=http://____________][ image]http://eur.yimg.com/i/xp/premier_photo/c/cf7e1ad71e.jpg[ /image][ /url ]

To get the tags to show up I've had to include spaces, so just remove these. Helpful?

You're not closing your [ url ][ /url ] tags, George, but I'm guessing you only want to put an image up anyway, so it should look like this:
[ image ]http://eur.yimg.com/i/xp/premier_photo/c/cf7e1ad71e.jpg[ /image ]

So it looks like this without the spaces:
[image]http://eur.yimg.com/i/xp/premier_photo/c/cf7e1ad71e.jpg[/image]

If you want to post an image that will also be a link, you do this:
[ url=http://www.google.co.uk ][ image ]http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/images/logo.gif[ /image ][ /url ]

And that would look like this:

However, the image you've chosen there won't actually let you hotlink it (ie. put it onto another page using the original link), so you'd need to upload it to a free server, such as http://www.photobucket.com - okay?

Jackie.

The short answer to both of those is no.  You can't see who has voted in the poll but results can be viewed without voting by clicking the View Results Link below the voting choices.

Only mods and admin can delete threads.

Right click on the image. Properties. Then copy and paste the URL into the "Add Image" section.

OK, I've tried repeatedly and am unable to post pix stored in my Photobucket account.  I was able to post pix without a problem at the 'old' Empire forum, but not here.

Here's what I've been doing.  First I copy the picture's URL, then I click on 'Enter Image URL' (little yellow envelope), and then I click 'Paste' and say 'OK.'  The only thing that ever shows up is a colorful 'rectangular box'  - but NO IMAGE!  Can someone please help?  There must be SOMETHING I'm missing (besides half a brain of course)!

Photobucket sucks.  Use Image Shack instead, that's what I do as much as I can.  I've had nothing but trouble with PB pics, here and other forums.

I would try another account, but unfortunately I'm paid up at Photobucket for another year.  What I don't understand is why I had no problem at the old Empire forum, and I have no problem posting pix at other sites.
