Help! I cant get my avatar to work!!!

It fits all the criteria but when i try to update my details i get this message -

Here Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied /myempire/p_details.asp, line 19

Anyone?

Might be a daft question and, going by the amount of replies to the above poster's query, may go unanswered but, how do you make your sig bold?

Its a small thing,but can the first letters of my usernames be put in capitals.You know so it can say Darth Silas,instead of darth silas?

Should have done it properly when i originally registered,but hey,better late than never right?

How do you, if I was to put a link in my signature to my top 100 films, make sure that when you click the link it goes directly to that part of the page and not just the top of the page?

Yeah, everytime i try to upload one i get an internal server error.

The same thing happened a while back with my pms, although touch wood they seem to be fine now.

Hmm, I'm trying to add a signature/homepage but keep getting the page back on trying to refresh. I think the problem is linked to the 'want to change your password' bit, as I keep blanking it out as requested, but it comes back filled . . .

EDITED TO ADD - Oh, it's added the sig despite everything - carry on!

I cant seem to use quotation marks in my forum posts.When i try to use them i get a message saying EITHER THIS FEATURE IS DIABLED OR YOU DO NOT HAVE SUFFICENT INFORMATION.How do i solve this problem.

White Mage - you'd added a load of other stuff in as well as the pic URL, which was the problem. Currently the problem seems to be the link no longer exists. All you need is the URL - no IMG or other codes.

Epiphany - if you look about 2/3 pages in to the top 100 thread this year (or possibly last year) you'll find some posts with Gram telling, I think, Dantes how to do exactly that. It is something to do with first quoting the post you want it to link to so you can see the code and then including that within the URL link.

Darth - do you mean the quote button isn't working? Or are you trying some kind of code the site doesn't necessarily take?

No i mean i cant use quotation marks,like when im quoting a line of dialogue from a film i cant put quotation marks before and after.

Hope this works this time - I seem to have lots of probs with the site for some reason

I've tried over a period of years to upload an avatar (of correct proportions and file size) but each time I try to apply the change it says 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR; so I thought I'd finally contact you about it!

Not sure what the problem is as I can upload mashups etc with no problem

Also, due to a recent nickname bestowed upon me by my "friends", I'd like to change my username to Mr Pooks - is this possible?

Could you post the link to the avatar you wish to use, please? And it is a link - the site doesn't host uploads, so if that is what you've been trying to do, that would be your problem. The pic needs to be hosted online.

In all my time here I've never wanted a video avatar. And I know there's an amnesty.

But could I get one for..3 weeks? A 2/2.5 second one? Before reverting to my beloved Garbo?

Who do I have to kill...I mean, of course, who should I approach? I know there's savvy users on the forum good at this sort of thing.

Anyway, its just a notion, if it can't be done, I still have the coolest static av of all

You can have a moving av Demoncleaner - the amnesty was for file sizes over 150kb. But you can fit plenty into that limit.

If you can put it together yourself - kudos, I wouldn't know where to start!

If not, there is a thread in Knowledge Base where helpful peeps do volunteer work for the less technically able amongst us, lovely lads and lassies that they are.

Are you linking to a free online hosting site where you've uploaded the pic or are you trying to upload to Empire itself? You can'd do the latter - but it's a common mistake.
