Pettsy Good one! "All 80's all vinal weekend" great stuff
when "Blister in the Sun" by the Violent Femmes kicks in you know the films going to be great,
why havent i got this film?? dammit im buying it now.

Probably because it's still only available in vanilla, extras-free version. .  I know there was a second soundtrack volume that was released, there are a few brilliant songs in the film not on the first CD, eg. Lucky Day In Hell by Eels.

Nah, im just not very proactive

You really can't beat The Lost Boys soundtrack.

It was the first one I bought, and it's STILL the best.

JEDI BOBSTER

"Cryyyyyyy little sister........."

How about Miami Vice? The combination of songs with imagery had some outstanding results, as you would expect from Michael Mann. The stand-out has got to be the new and far superior version of "One Of These Mornings" by Moby Feat. Patty LaBelle. I was loving the film, then the scene comes along where Crockett takes Gong Li on a ride in his boat. I thought something sounded familiar in the background, then about halfway through the Moby track erupted as the camera pulled away with these simply sublime shots of the boat cruising along. It was a good idea smoking that joint before going into the cinema

dazed and confused - the soundtrack that convinced me that seventies rock was, in fact, the shit.

Was gonna say this but is the thread focusing on specific songs or incidental music. Either way, 'Gonna Fly Now' is a stone-cold classic!

Three that jump to mind right now, Almost Famous, Romeo and Juliet, and Empire Records (although there are some great songs missing from the OST of that one).

Big Fish has quite a nice soundtrack.   Oh and the Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the best ever.  I like the way you get Charles Grey from the film in it at certain points.  Also again more of a score but it does feature some good tunes Belle & Sebatians Score for StoryTelling.
