I think I would prefer it if Liz's speech this year was just a rundown of her 10 favourite Doctor Who episodes.

 Double-posting to bring some Christmas cheer to the thread. A pal of mine does an awesome advent calendar on GB each year, this is my favourite so far of this year's crop:




Although the Daleks are known to be the Doctor's biggest foe,
There's no need to fear this one as it's simply made of snow!

 Radio Times: Christmas edition:

An (admittedly) extremely glib interview with Matt Smith seems to show him in no panic what-so-fooooking-ever to leave Doctor Who ( thank you Jesus!). Matt says "We've got Doctor Who's 50th anniversary coming up in November 2013. and one assumes there'll be another Christmas special after that, and I'd hope to be part of it. I take each year as it comes. All good things comes to an end, but my mum is aghast at the thought of me ever not being the Doctor. The show is the star and will continue without me. I'm committed to it next year and will sit down down with Steven Moffat and see where we go from there. I've no immediate plans to leave. I'm around for a whole year and that's a long time."


Of course he has to be modest, but he's invoking his mum, his commitment and his expectation. Please stay matt, or else we'll have to get that dandy Harpo-marx-looking-motherfucker back from the jungle!


EDIT:

The Radio Times also said about The Christmas episode....

I don't believe I suggested that everyone did it, just that I am going to wait. I haven't seen the character yet, I don't feel as though I can speculate at the moment.
