Sad News.

Liz Shaw was a brilliant character and Caroline John was superb. I personally think that Series Seven of Doctor Who is one of the best Series in the shows history.

Always saddened me that she didn't do more stories than she did (4 in total plus the brief appearance in The Five Doctors) and that, after deciding to get rid of the character, they never gave her a proper goodbye - especially as, to my mind, she was the first companion who could be seen as an equal to the Doctor, and she always appeared to have a good chemistry with Pertwee.

By all accounts the decided to write her out because of her characters intelligence, meaning they couldn't use her to ask the questions to then allow the Doctor to explain to the viewers what was going on. Hence replacing her with the slightly dizzy Jo Grant

And I'm probably not the only person of a certain age who found myself remembering her every time Noomi Rapace's character was namechecked in Prometheus

Sad news. A great character who had the distinction of being in the magnificent series seven.

The original, and best, Liz Shaw.

Caroline was also pregnant at the time , so her departure was by mutual consent I believe..

One actor (and legend) in the bunch I'm particularly excited about, as will most horror and sci-fi fans...

The selection of guest stars they've acquired for the upcoming series is really quite impressive. I can't wait.

Two more guest stars announced - one of whom I'm always shocked hasn't been in it before.

Question about The Impossible Astronaut; River knows it's her past self in the suit, right? I rewatched it the other day and she says "Of course not" when she's firing at the astronaut to no effect.

Surprised no one had answered this by now but yeah, she must do.

More episode titles from Comic-Con, this time for Episodes Two to Four:

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (Chris Chibnall) - Sadly, the possibility of Samuel L Jackson being in this is remote.
A Town Called Mercy (Toby Whithouse)
Cubed - Chibnall finishes his drone strike on this year's series.

I see there's another public premiere this year. Which will mean more spoilers. Then Moffat complaining about spoilers.

How about we pre-empt that and just show the damn prog on the telly where we paid for it to be

I'm going to try and get a ticket to watch it and then annoy everyone in here about it afterwards!

I hate titles like that.
Its like telling the audience 'this is what movie we're ripping off'.

So anyway, when is the bleeding show on?
